Cape Elizabeth is a town located on the Atlantic Ocean, a few miles south of Portland. It includes two islands and three coastal parks. The Beach to Beacon race occurs in August and runs directly in front of the Inn. This race is a world class 6.2 mile/10K race in Cape Elizabeth from Crescent Beach to Portland Head Light The race draws runners from all parts of the US and elite athletes from around the world. Portland is the largest city in Maine and the Greater Portland area is home to more than one-third of Maine’s total population. Portland’s historic Old Port and Arts districts draw tourists, particularly during the summer months. Portland is located on Casco Bay and is the hub for ferries going to populated islands located in the bay, the largest of which is Peaks Island.
