Rockport is located approximately 35 miles northeast of Boston at the tip of the Cape Ann peninsula. It is directly east of Gloucester and is surrounded on three sides by the Atlantic Ocean. Rockport is primarily a suburban residential and tourist town, but it is still home to a number of lobster fishermen and artists. Its rocky beaches and seaside parks are a favorite place for tourists from the Greater Boston Area.
Gloucester is home to America's original seaport and the oldest working art colony in North America. A place to see, feel & taste, Gloucester's working waterfront and beauty have drawn fisherman, families, artists and visitors for over 400 years. If you enjoy the ocean and outdoor activities this is the perfect area to try fishing, go lighthouse sightseeing, swimming at the beach, whale watching and boating. During your free time you have the opportunity to learn about the cultural and history of the area by visiting the Cape Ann Museum and art galleries. On your days off you can also head to Boston, which is less than an hour away.
