Gunslinger Saloon is a gift shop located in the historic town of Deadwood, SD. Deadwood is part of America's wild west history and is rich in sites, stories, and entertainment pertaining to the old days of gold mining and old western heroes, such as Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, and Al Swearengen. There are museums, historic saloons, and graveyards to name a few of the attractions. The city also puts on 4-6 old western performances throughout each day during the summer tourist season, including shootouts, poker game reenactments, hangings, and so on, all of which are family friendly. The city has many festivals and concerts throughout the season such as Days of 76 (a rodeo), Wild Bill Days (concerts), Kool Deadwood Nites (old car show, concerts, auction, and parade!), and many others. We plan many cultural activities for the students such as Mt. Rushmore, Bear Country, Badlands National Park, and shopping trips Rapid City. We also take the students on a lake day to Lake Pactola, where we barbecue, fish, and swim!
