About the region
Weather in Alaska can best be described as extreme, with high temperatures during the day that then drop down low at night. As you move inland, the temperatures even out and the average summer high in Talkeetna is about 70 degrees Fahrenheit. It is best to be prepared with multiple layers of clothing and ready for rain, sun and chilly night time temperatures. At the height of summer you will experience long days of sunlight.
